A tall column mounts vertically on a slim dark plate, open at both ends so light leaves upward and downward at once and lays two soft cones on the wall above and below. The surface is left pitted and open-pored right across, so it catches the light it throws and reads as texture rather than a smooth tube. The plate sits back behind the column and stays narrower than it, keeping the fixing out of sight and letting the column stand clear of the wall.
