A rounded dome caps a slim stem that drops into a wide cylindrical column, and the light sits in a ring under the dome so it throws down the column and out across the surface. Brushed gold runs through the whole body onto a flat disc base that keeps the footprint neat. Brightness steps through a dimmer rather than switching on full, and it runs on an internal battery so it can sit away from a socket and go back on charge later.
