Small wooden rests shaped like flat pebbles, with a shallow dip across the top so chopsticks sit in it rather than rolling off. Each one is finished with a graded tone that deepens towards one end, so no two look quite alike. They are low enough not to lift the ends of the chopsticks awkwardly, and heavy enough for their size that they stay put when knocked. They work for a knife and fork too.
